Name of Post - Staff Nurse Grade -II

No of Post - 7615 Post

Age Limit - Between 18 & 39 Years of age as on 01.01.2018, Relaxable for Schedule Caste/ Schedule Tribe/Other Backward Classes and person with disabilities as per Government Rules and Orders, etc in force. 33% of the post of Staff Nurse, Grade II shall be filled up from regular B.Sc. passed female candidates, 2% from regular Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing passed female candidates, 65% from General Nursing and Midwifery passed candidates amongst which 90% from General Nursing Midwifery passed female candidates and 10% from General Nursing Midwifery passed male candidates.

Pay Scale - Rs. 7,100/- – 37,600/- [Grade Pay – Rs. 3,600/-]. Dearness allowance is as per Government norm. Higher initial pay is admissible with Rs. 7680:-- Uniform, Washing and amenity allowances as admissible.

Qualifications -

(1) (a) Indian Citizen.

(b) General Nursing and Midwifery/ Basic B.Sc. (Nursing)/ Post Basic B.Sc. (Nursing) course passed from any Nursing Training School/College of Nursing recognized by both Indian Nursing Council and Respective State Nursing Council.

(c) Registration as Female/Male Nurse Midwifery from West Bengal Nursing Council. (Please note that the candidates who will be completing Nursing Course by September, 2018 are also eligible to apply subject to production of Permanent Registration at the time of joining, if selected).

(d) Knowledge of Bengali/Nepali- Spoken and written.

Application Fees - Candidates must submit online the application fee amounting to Rs. 210/- (Rupees two hundred ten only) through GRIPS (Govt. Receipt Portal System), Govt. of West Bengal under the Head of Account: ‘ 0051-00-104-002-16’.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST of West Bengal and persons with disabilities specified under Disabilities Rule, 1999 (certificates obtained before the Advertisement date) are not required to pay any fee. Such exemption of fee is, however, not applicable to any OBC (category A or B) candidate.

SELECTION PROCEDURE -

Selection procedure for DR/04 - Nurse/A will consist of tests in 3 stages –

Stage 1 - Preliminary Test : Screening examinations to be held to shortlist candidates. The format of the screening examinations will be as follows:
  1. Examination will consist of 50 multi choice questions(choice of 4 answers) of one hour duration in the following proportion:
a. Mathematics – 20 questions
b. Science – 20 questions
c. General awareness – 10 questions

2. ‘3’ marks for each correct answer and ‘1’ mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

3. All candidates with <40% in General category and <30% in reserved category will be screened out.

Stage 2 - Advanced Test : All candidates Screened in Stage 1 will be allowed to undertake Stage 2 (Advance Test) in their respective trade.
1. The Test will comprise 50 multi choice questions (choice of 4 answers) of two hour duration.

2. ‘3’ marks for each correct answer and ‘1’ mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

3. Merit List of candidates will be prepared after Stage-2 based upon the scores obtained in Stage-2 only.

4. All candidates with <30% in General category and <20% in reserved category will be screened out.

Stage 3 - Skill Test : Based upon the Merit List prepared after Stage-2, candidates will be shortlisted for Stage 3 (Skill Test). Candidates clearing the skill test will be shortlisted and empanelled in order of Merit based on the marks secured in Stage 2.

1. The number of candidates shortlisted for Skill Test will depend upon the number of candidates qualifying for Stage 2 but will not exceed 4 - 5 times the number of vacancies in each trade.

2. The Skill Test will be based on Go/No-Go basis.
